At Desire Tea we only use CO2 decaffeinated tea.

The tea is processed as normal. After the tea has been processed 

The CO2 method of decaffeination is used to remove the caffeine.

This method involves “pressure cooking” the tea leaves 

with CO2. The high pressure and temperatures used forces 

the CO2 to become solvent (super critical state).

The small CO2 molecules attract the small caffeine molecules

But leave the larger molecules such as flavour intact.

This is why CO2 decaffeinated tea retains the original flavour of 

the tea better than other methods of decaffeination.
